The Horizon

'The Horizon'

words and music by stephen h. smith 29Jan2005

And the truth isn't hidden
In the wisdom of fools
It lies in our leaders
Who make up the rules
And the lies that you swallow
Will pass into fact
For once you have followed
There's no turning back
Will the history read
When it's our turn to go
More pathetic excuses
"We just didn't know" ?

The Horizon is cloudy
There's red in the sky
Going faster and faster
Without asking "Why?"
And our children will pay
For the hell that we raise
When all our tomorrows
Become... yesterdays

To the voices of reason
We've turned deaf and blind
As we choose to abandon
The lessons of Time
But what if what we've been
Isn't what we'll become?
And turn away from the piper
Nor march to the drum
Or belong to the ages
With nothing to show
Of the power that comes
From the guts to say "NO"

The Horizon is cloudy
There's red in the sky
Going faster and faster
Without asking "Why?"
And our children will pay
For the Hell that we raise
When all our tomorrows
Become... yesterdays
