Sad Sadr Sadist

Wordplay aside, the news today from Iraq seems to indicate that while Americans were busying themselves with Mel Gibson, Shakes on a Plane, and John Mark Karr, a Shiite Cleric/Militia leader in Iraq was paying close attention to the actions of a Shiite Cleric/Militia leader in Lebanon.

Moktada al-Sadr is apparently taking lessons from Hezbollah's Nasrallah and applying them in Iraq, as per reports, yesterday 50 of his militia men were killed in a 12 hour gunbattle that forced Iraqi government troops out of the city of Diwaniyah, 80 miles south of Baghdad, where some 70,000 U.S. and Iraqi troops are said to be "successfully" countering the Insurgency in 'Operation Forward Together'.

Thus, apparantly, al-Sadr is familiar with the tactics of Douglas MacAthur, "hit'em where they ain't", as well.

Or perhaps he is really a baseball fan?
