A once great idea
Hath gone far astray
From the Whiskey Rebellion
Clear up to today
As power corrupts
It enables the thief
And so we have done
To the Commander-in-Chief
The story's repeated
Time and again
And ours too will pass
Yet no one knows when
Tis a most human failing
In the samaritan's disguise
Such ignoble endeavors
Should be no surprise
For our guns and our butter
And our still sacred cow
We'd be just as well off
If the charade ended now
He "leads" the "free" world
And praise some still sing
But he's not President
He's our temporary KING
What he does is for "our" protection
The psycho-phants do cry
But liberty is no longer the question
Only how and when we'll die
I've done it again and said too much
Well, make room for one final verse
To those who think "it's really bad now"
Just wait, it's going to get worse
