To constantly "live in the present"
Is a shallow and common mistake
If allowed to become a habit
'Tis one that is difficult to break
To only look back is it's equal
To "live in the past" is denial
Though history is known to repeat itself
It often can take quite a while
To plan for the future is wise
To bank on it, is terribly wrong
For much of life is un-anticipated
Dreams dashed are a lamentable song
For success the answer's quite obvious
With experience it is easy to see
To live a life to it's fullest
One has to balance all three
The future, the past, and the present
To each, give'em their proper due
For when they are truly in balance
Wisdom will come shining through
